Resources can be found in crates, dropped by animals and enemies (excluding the "gods" themselves) or found in the environment. The crafting system is based on maintaining and upgrading equipment. Each set of three will increase the maximum stamina of the character (a total of ten enhancements), which is crucial for taking down the gods. 30 glowing totems can be found around the map, rewarded for solving environmental puzzles or searching obscure locations. There are also potions scattered around to help keep these afflictions at bay, although it is strongly advisable to hunt, gather, cook and rest during play. If caught in a freezing gale or body of water, the character will need to find shelter and make a fire before the cold affects her health. Most actions will exacerbate this, for example: sprinting will increase hunger faster, which decreases the rate of stamina replenishment. Over time, the character will become hungry, fatigued and chilled, which all negatively impact her performance. Some hints on how to do so are provided in the form of cave drawings. Each one is unique and must be studied to understand how to defeat it. After some exploration, players must track down behemoths known as "gods", finding ways to scale their massive bodies and strike the chimes located at critical points. She must scavenge for resources (weapons, food, etc.) to survive the frozen landscape, dynamically generated weather and other hostilities. The player character starts her journey stranded on a frozen island, with only the clothes on her back. Initially released via early access in January 2019, and the full version of the game was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox One in December 2021. Although there is a vast world to explore, the game suffers from a common case of being "large but empty." On the upside though, the game is incredibly optimized and loads virtually instantly.Praey for the Gods is an action-adventure survival game developed by No Matter Studios. The developers had an idea for what they wanted to achieve with the game, but were not sure how to balance it all together. Sadly, I cannot recommend it at its current price point, as it is a short, unmemorable game. In short, Præy for the Gods is a rough gem that might be worth a play if you enjoy open-world adventure games. Some of the bosses are creative and fun to play against while others can be annoyingly tedious due to faulty, unpolished design. Health points are not the primary concern in this game stamina is. The game seems to be best enjoyed on a normal difficulty and not a hard one, and there is no way to adjust the difficulty setting once it is locked in. The sluggish movement and high amounts of damage weigh on the game's enjoyment. And by "attack", I mean more like triggering a damage event by repeatedly activating some pedestals. Instead, the bosses are designed to be taken down by having the player climb onto their bodies to "attack" certain weak points while trying not to fall off. In spite of what the trailers lead you to believe, it is NOT a Souls-like-you do not engage in any epic boss battles. ![]() At its core, the game feels like a Breath of the Wild clone.
